External Configuration
The following steps are required to configure this system to work with Sureview.
Before you begin
Before you configure your LNVR system to work with Sureview make sure you have the following:
- Open ports on your OnGuard and LNVR servers - see Network Requirements
- Windows user account with DataConduIT access
- Sureview Lenel router service installation files
Router Installation
Ensure the router service (LenelAlarmRouterService) is installed, configured correctly, and running on the Lenel OnGuard server. If not, instructions for the installation and configuration of this component can be found here.
Playback and Pre-Alarm Configuration
This device must be configured for continuous camera recording for camera playback and pre-alarm to function correctly in Sureview.
For pre-alarm, the LNVR server and OnGuard server should be synchronized to exactly the same time. This can be achieved by setting the servers to use the same timezone and same NTP server for time synchronization.
Sureview Configuration
The following steps are required to configure this integration in the Sureview interface.
Before you begin
Before you configure Sureview to work with Lenel NVR make sure you have the following:
- Open ports on your Sureview server - see Network Requirements
- Username and password of an account within Lenel NVR (if configured)
- Sureview Lenel NVR installation files
Control Configuration
Standard Sureview SetupThe information below is required to add an LNVR server to Sureview:
Field | Value |
Host | The IP address of the Onguard server (e.g. 192.168.1.57) |
Port |
The port used by the Lenel router (e.g. 12001). The port can be configured in the Lenel Alarm Router's config file (SVLenelRouter.exe.config) as "LocalPort": |
User | Username of the LNVR user (Only required if the LNVR has authentication configured - Otherwise leave blank) |
Password | Password for the LNVR user (Only required if the LNVR has authentication configured - Otherwise leave blank) |
NvrId, NvrIp, RtspPort, NvrProxyHost, NvrProxyPort |
The LNVR extra value is made up of several individual parameters, each is required for the integration to function correctly. NOTE: This value is not generated by GetConfig and must be entered manually. NvrIp = IP address of the LNVR server. Example: NvrIp=192.168.1.53,NvrId=5,RtspPort=554,NvrProxyHost=192.168.1.55,NvrProxyPort=555 |
Add a new device within the Sureview interface. Select "Lenel NVR" from the dropdown list and enter the IP address of the OnGuard server, the port of the alarm router service, and the username and password of the LNVR server.
For a general support article on Site Sync here section. In order to configure the SiteSync in Sureview , follow the steps below.
Go to Setup -> Settings -> Edit Settings -> Click customer details (LNVR) -> Next -> Sync systems -> Add the device details.:

Go to Setup-> Click Customer(LNVR) -> Edit details -> Site syncing -> Add the 'Identifier' (Nvr Id) -> Click Finish.

Troubleshooting
How do I receive alarms from LNVR? (Sureview CC Customers Only)
Alarms from LNVR are dispatched via the OnGuard server and do not originate from the LNVR itself. In order to receive LNVR alerts you must ensure that the Lenel OnGuard integration is installed and and correctly configured in Sureview, see here for more information.
To setup alarms for the NVR, go to the alarms tab. Choose the device and alarm type (see red boxes in the screen shot below). The Input should correspond to the camera id (see below for instructions on finding the camera id).
Where can I find the NVR and Camera Id's?
Unique identifiers for NVR's, segments and cameras can be found using the Lenel Onguard Tool (LenelTest.exe). The tool will be installed at the same location as the Lenel Alarm Routing service and must be run from the OnGuard server as a username with permissions to connect to DataConduIT. The tool allows you to determine the unique id of each NVR (in the example below NVR Id = 5) and camera.
- Launch the application (LenelTest.exe) located in the alarm router folder
- Click the 'Connect' button.
- Click the 'List Panels' button.
- The panel id (ID) will be visible within each result row.
- The segment if (SegmentID) will also be visible within each result row. (Typically you will just have segment 0)
- Use this identifier as the NVR ID in Sureview for sync and GetConfig.
To determine the camera ID for alarm matching:
- Launch the application (LenelTest.exe) located in the alarm router folder
- Click the 'Connect' button.
- Enter the panel id found above into the "by panel" box.
- Click the 'List items' button.
- The camera id (ID) will be visible within each result row.
- Use this identifier as the alarm input number in Sureview
