***PreAlarm and Playback recording requires Administrator permissions to work correctly and will only use the main stream. Ensure your devices are set for continuous recording on main stream. Hikvision is hardcoded to request main stream prealarm. Main stream prealarm recordings can be very CPU heavy.
Components and Communication
From | To | Port | Use |
SureView server | DVR | 8000 TCP | Server port - for connecting to DVR |
Sureview server | DVR | 554 TCP | RTSP port* - for connecting to DVR |
DVR | Sureview server | 25 TCP | For receiving SMTP alarms |
* Please note that the RTSP port configured on the device must be the same port used to access the stream externally. This integration connects to the device to determine the port to be used

Troubleshooting
Prealarm
If prealarm is not presenting itself when your alarm actions are set up correctly please validate that the footage is available using the HikVision Native Web Interface. As detailed above continuous recording needs to be available and the firmware must be current.
Audio Transmit/Receive
This integration will add two Audio Devices during 'Get Config' for both DVRs and NVRs. Called 'Audio Channel 1' and 'Audio Channel 2' these represent the audio connection on the HikVision hardware. One of these represents the phono socket on the device, the other is HDMI output out.
Audio Transmit Not Working
Check the Hikvision unit is armed. If the unit is disarmed then it might not output the audio that Sureview is transmitting to it.
IP Cameras on Hybrid devices/NVRs
IP cameras start at Input 101, e.g.Analogue Camera 1 = Sureview Camera 1
Analogue Camera 2 = Sureview Camera 2
Analogue Camera 3 = Sureview Camera 3
IP Camera 1 = Sureview Camera 101
IP Camera 2 = Sureview Camera 102
IP Camera 3 = Sureview mix Camera 103
Firmware 3.3.4
One thing that can be confirmed in regard to 3.3.4 is that Camera Security must be set to 'Weak' (see attached). Setting it to 'Strong' will certainly causing the device not to connect.
Alarm connection initiated but remote server failed to send data
If you see this it is likely an issue with the firmwares ability to send attached images.
To test, untick Attached Image (See Alarm Configuration) on the DVR. If this successfully sends the alarms now, upgrade the firmware and retick Attached Image.
Hik-online.com
The host hik-online.com will not work as this does not make a direct connection to the device, but through a portal hosted by Hikvision. To connect to a Hikvision device you will require the details for a direct connection to the DVR.
CODE 153
A Code 153 error is an indication that you have been locked out of the DVR from your IP address, usually as a result of wrong credentials.
It does still allow connection from other IPs, which may lead you to feel any issue of this kind is related to the Sureview server, however this is not the case.
Check your login credentials, and the lock-out will remove itself after around 30 minutes.
Unable to Connect to live with error Net-DVR-Chann-NotSupport
This is usually an indicator that the camera you are trying to connect to has not been configured with the Stream option being requested. For Example, if you are requesting the SubStream and you receive this error on Some camera's, these camera's will likely only have a main stream configured.
Pre-Alarm recording is failing
For pre-alarm to work correctly a number of items must be checked
- Is continuous recording set against each channel
- Is your user an Administrator on the device (this is required for us to refresh the recorded footage index prior to requesting the pre-alarm data)
- Is the sites timezone correct in Sureview
- Is the devices time correct
Encrypted Streams
Sureview is not compatible with Hikvisions running Encrypted Streams, If your device prompts for Encryption Keys when checking the stream in the web interface this will not function in Sureview
