Prerequisites
ShotSpotter Alert Configuration
Your ShotSpotter account must be configured to send alerts to the ShotSpotter receiver within your SureView Enterprise installation. Please contact your ShotSpotter representative to configure this. You should have the dns or IP address of your SureView Device Tier to hand.
Installation and Configuration
Install the following package on your SureView Device Tier (where 1.x.x.x is the latest available version):
- CC-DEVICESERVICE-ShotSpotterAlarmReceiver-1.x.x.x.svpkg
Site setup
When adding a ShotSpotter device to an area, you do not need to provide any connection details. It is recommended you add a only one ShotSpotter device to your root area as any alerts sent by ShotSpotter will be raised to every device discovered.
Troubleshooting
Why am I not receiving alerts?
As ShotSpotter is a cloud based platform, you need to ensure it can connect into your Device Tier from an external location.
Why do I see "invalid alert, incorrect format detected" in my service logs?
This error is caused by a another service trying to send alerts into the SureView ShotSpotter Receiver. The Receiver will reject any alerts that do not meet the criteria of a ShotSpotter alert.
