Prerequisites
- The Videofied/Frontel software must be installed on a separate server to Sureview, with the GI service installed within it.
- If running a 64 bit server corflags should be run against VideoFrameExtractor.exe. Ask our support team if assistance is required in this respect. (Enterprise Only)
Setup Configuration
Videofied / Frontel Server Setup
To configure the Videofied server to send alarms and video to Sureview you must follow the steps below:- Open the Frontel Launcher and click 'Config'.
- When the Frontel Config opens click on the 'GI' tab.
- Select the sub-tab 'Server' from the 'GI' tab.
- In the 'GI Server' field enter the IP address of the Primary Sureview server (not the NLB address if applicable) and in the 'Port' field enter '1556', then click 'Apply'.
- Next, click on the 'Advanced' sub-tab (still in the 'GI' tab).
- If using a Frontel version 2.4.8.0 or newer - set the 'Protocol format' to 3.
If using a Frontel version older than 2.4.8.0 - set the 'Protocol format' to 1. - Set the 'Mode' value to 'Events + Files', set the 'Heartbeat interval' to 30 seconds and tick the 'Include alarm panel serial number' option (within the 'Frame format' box on the left).
- Click 'Apply' to save the settings, click 'Restart Services' and then click 'Exit'.
Sureview Server Setup
- Ensure that the latest Videofied update is installed on the Sureview Server.
- When installing the Videofied receiver service the following value is required, by default this value is set to 0 however if you wish to increase the FPS of the alarm footage playback, increase this value.
- Open Sureview, click 'Setup' and then click 'Edit Settings'.
- Select the station level site and then click 'Next'.
- Select the 'Preferences' tab, and in the 'Videofied Service Location' field enter the IP address of the Primary and Secondary Sureview servers (not the NLB address or the Videofied Server address) in the following format, then click 'Apply' to save your changes.
<IP_Address_of_Server_1>,<IP_Address_of_Server_2>
Note: If you only have one Sureview Server just enter the IP address of that one server.
Adding a Videofied Device
- To add a Videofied device into Sureview, navigate to the device setup page.
- Select the 'VideoFied' device type and then in the 'Account Number' field enter your device specific account number. No other fields need to be filled in.
Troubleshooting
I can't see the Videofied panel box
If you can't see the Videofied 'Custom Controls' tab when opening a VideoFied site this means that either you are not running the latest Videofied update, or you have not entered a value in the Sureview site settings (Installation step 2 - On the Sureview Server). Please follow the setup section of this support page and ensure the latest Videofied device and service packages are downloaded and installed on your Sureview server.Sureview is showing "Videofied device not connected."
A panel is only connected if an alarm has recently been received from that site. If an alarm was recently sent but the panel still says that it is not connected then please follow the steps below. Make sure the correct IP addresses (of the Sureview Servers) are entered into the 'Videofied Service Location' field inside the site settings and the format of the values entered is correct. For help with this, reference the 'Sureview Server Setup' section of this page.
I am receiving a lot of Videofied Heart Beat fail alarms
This is likely because the Videofied server has been set to send heart beats too infrequently.Video Playback is very slow
You can configure the number of frames per second for alarm playback manually by editing the 'SVVideofiedReceiver.exe.config' file on the Sureview Server, to do this:- Navigate to the Sureview install folder and explore the 'Videofied' folder, then open the 'SVVideofiedReceiver.exe.config' file using a text editor (notepad, etc)
- Edit (or add) the following line in the '.config' file, adjusting the set value to whatever is required. It is recommended to set this value to a maximum of 20.
- Save the config file and restart the 'SVVideofiedReceiver' service.
Alarm Video Playback skips/jumps with varied speed
Ensure that you are using the correct flash player version - If you are unsure or need to download the correct version, follow this link: http://support.sureviewsystems.com/entries/20700291-immix-cloud-minimum-hardware-specifications If the solutions mentioned here do not solve the problem you are having with a Videofied device, please raise a new support ticket .I'm getting an alarm in Sureview "Unknown Videofied customer: xxx"
This means that Frontel/Videofied is receving an alarm with an account number xxx. You should identify what site should be using account number xxx and make sure you have added a Videofied device with the exact same account number into Sureview. The alarms will then go to the right site.
If you don't want to receive those alerts you have two options
- Stop the physical device from sending alarms
- Add the device to a new site in Sureview, then disarm or disable it.
My Physical Relay/Output is not triggering
Some Videofied units have reserved "Relay Number" 1 & 2 for special cases. This means that the physical relay/outputs sometimes start at #3 rather than #1
In that case in Sureview Relay Number 3 = Physical Relay/Output 1
