Overview
Dispatch lets you view and control your guards in real time. If you are using Mobile Dispatch, then you are able to see the exact location of each of your guards on the map, and dispatch them to nearby alarms.
Prerequisites
To access Dispatch Management, you will need to:
- Activate the Dispatch feature.
- Have the CanDispatch permission within the "Dispatch" section
Accessing Dispatch
As long as the prerequisites are met, you will see a Dispatch menu item. Click this to open Dispatch. Whether you have mobile dispatch or not, the top of the window will show the alarm queue filters used to filter your guards and alarms list. This will default to what you have open in Alarms.
Without Mobile Dispatch
If you do not have Mobile Dispatch enabled, you will see a list of your callsigns, with their status.
With Mobile Dispatch
If you have Mobile Dispatch enabled, you will see a map, showing the visible guard's positions. On the right, you will see a summary of guards and patrols within your filters.
By default the guards will only show online callsigns; those where a guard is currently logged in and using. Checking the Include Offline box will allow you to see all callsigns.
Guards List
The guards list shows guards meeting your current filtering.
The walking icon for a guard shows the current status.
- Green indicates the guard is not currently conducting an event - they may be "Dispatched" if they have been dispatched to an event but have yet to pick it up, or "Available" if they have no events assigned to them.
- Yellow indicates that a guard is en-route to an event; the dotted line will show the path to the event they have been dispatched to.
- Blue indicates they are currently on the scene of an event - this may be an alarm or a waypoint of a tour.
- Gray shows that a guard is currently unavailable
A blinking red warning by this icon shows that a guard has exceeded their alert timer - This may mean that a guard's break has exceeding allotted time, but it could also mean that a guard en-route to an event has taken longer than expected. Clicking this warning icon will show more details - if you have the CanExtendAlerts permission, you are able to add additional time.
If you have mobile dispatch, you will see pin and map marker icons.
Clicking the pin will open a window for the guard on the map. This will let you monitor extended information, and can be kept open.
The map marker icon will center the map on the guard.
Clicking the guard row will show a popup allowing you to dispatch the guard to an event, or to clear the current dispatch. In this popup, alarms marked with an icon exist within the guard's patrol zone. Alarms without an icon are outside this guard's patrol zones. Please note: at present only guards that are logged in through the mobile app can be dispatched to events through the dispatch management interface. Guards dispatched from other parts of SureView (i.e. Quick Dispatch or Site Monitor will still show the correct status here)
If you have Mobile Dispatch, this list can be extended and collapsed. Extending it will show additional information.
In the case where you would like to update a guard' type, this is possible from the guards list. Simply right click on the guard and select "Change type". This will load a dialog where you can update the guard' type by selecting a type from the drop down menu in the dialog.
Guard Tours
If you have mobile dispatch, you will see a list of guard tours you have set up. This shows the tour name, and when it was last started. Clicking a tour in the list allows a guard to be dispatched to it. Please note: at present only guards that are logged in through the mobile app can be dispatched to guard tours
Guard Map
If you have mobile dispatch, you will be able to see a map showing the locations of your alarms and guards. The guard markers are shown with the same colors as in the Guard List. Alarms are shown with red if they have not been dispatched to, orange when a guard has been dispatched to them, but has not yet reached the location, and blue if there is a guard on scene.
Clicking an alarm will show a list of guards that can be dispatched to the alarm. Those shown with a walking icon are assigned to a patrol zones that includes this alarm. Those shown with a map marker icon will need to leave their patrol zone to attend this alarm. Colors of these icons show the guard status, as with the Guard List.
Clicking a guard will show current status, and allow dispatching to alarms. Alarms showing an icon are those the guard will not need to leave their patrol zone for. Alarm icons show the current status of the alarm.
In the case where you would like to update a guard' type, this is also possible from the guards map. Simply right click on the guard' icon on the map and select "Change type". This will load a dialog where you can update the guard' type by selecting a type from the drop down menu in the dialog.
