Overview
Advanced Alarm grouping allows administrators to configure their systems to group or un-group alarms dependant on the type of alarms or the source of the alarms.
Setup
Advanced Alarm Grouping is enabled using the following feature flag:
NOTE: This will enable and disable the configuration of this feature. If the feature is configured then disabled, the configuration will still apply.
Usage
This feature allows administrators to group alarms within SureView using a range of options
Global Event Configuration
Event types can be configured to raise serially meaning each alarm raised, of the type specified, will be made into its own event. No other alarms raised will be able to be grouped into that event.
Device Setup
Devices can be configured to:
- Raise Alarms Serially - Every alarm that comes into the system that matches to this device (does not need to match a response), will be made into its own event. No other alarms raised will be able to be grouped into that event.
- Raise Alarms Grouped - Every alarm that comes into the system that matches to this device (does not need to match a response), will be made into its own event. Any alarms that come in that match to the exact same point will be added to the same event.
Alarm Setup
Alarms (Responses) can be configured to:
- Raise Alarms Serially - Every alarm that comes into the system that matches to this response will be made into its own event. No other alarms raised will be able to be grouped into that event.
- Raise Alarms Grouped - Every alarm that comes into the system that matches to this response will be made into its own event. Any alarms that come in that match to the exact same response will be added to the same event.
System Preferences
Global system preferences have been created so that the Device and Alarm "Raise Alarms Grouped " methods described above can be applied globally rather than on a device by device, or alarm by alarm basis.
The global preference for raising all alarms grouped for a device is "Raise all alarms for the same point, grouped together". The global preference for raising all alarms grouped for a response is "Raise all alarms for the same response, grouped together". These are shown in the screenshot below.
